Exposition

ONE°15 Brooklyn Marina, 159 Bridge Park Drive, Brooklyn, NY 11201 United States

A day to discover more than 25 low-techs discovered around the world on board a floating laboratory!

About this event

Join us on board and learn how to live better with less! The Nomade des Mers is a sailboat and floating laboratory that’s just completed a five-year global journey in search of innovative and practical low-tech sustainable systems.
New York City is Low-Tech Lab’s last stop on our 25-country expedition to discover more than 50 “Low-tech” solutions: useful, accessible and sustainable innovations that help to address basic needs such as energy, water, food storage, and heating.

Recently featured by the United Nations, you can meet the captain and founder of Low-tech Lab, Corentin de Chatelperron, and the crew to learn about their journey, and see for yourself the low-tech solutions they use on board:

  • Wind turbine made of recycled printer motors from Senegal (it can power small electronics)
  • A bioponic system to grow vegetables from Singapore
  • Solar cooker system from Mexico
  • Black soldier fly farm that transforms organic waste
  • Pedal powered machines from Guatemala

Low-tech Lab is a French non-profit on a mission to document, experiment and spread these solutions with our low-tech sailboat. We produce open-source tutorials, documentaries for TV and videos for the Internet so that this knowledge can be accessible to all.
Special thanks to ONE°15 Brooklyn Marina for hosting us during the New York stopover.

You must RSVP to confirm your tour. Once you RSVP, we will send a confirmation and more details to plan your visit. We look forward to meeting you!
