Hawila Project

Description

We are a non-profit organisation based in Denmark who are restoring and sailing a wooden 2 masted galeas, which was built in 1935. Our first aim is to transport cargo in a sustainable way, using the power of the wind to propel the vessel, navigation instruments and amenities onboard are supported by solar and wind energy. The second core point of our project is the ongoing development of an educational program with children in partnership with Danish schools, to raise awareness about environmental issues linked to transport and energy.
