Low-techs
for a sustainable
and desirable society!

At the Low-tech Lab, we use the term ‘low-tech’ to define the techniques, technologies, services and know-hows that stick to three main principles:

Useful. Accessible. Sustainable.

Our mission :
to make you want to live better with less, thanks to the low-tech spirit!

The Low-tech Lab

Low-techs are open to everyone everywhere. They provide the keys to answer our needs, while respecting people and the planet. The Low-Tech Lab’s mission is to find, test and share these solutions with as many people as possible.

As the voice of low-tech, the Low-Tech Lab strives to contribute to the emergence of ways of living, producing or consuming that are more sober, respectful and resilient. Basically, the birth of a more desirable society, and above all, a more sustainable one!

Digital technology is the industrial sector in which energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions are increasing the fastest, with 9 % per year for energy and 8 % a year for greenhouse gas emissions. In 2020, the digital sector will give out more greenhouse gas emissions than civil aviation.

Letting the digital sector grow in this direction slows down the emergence of a more hospitable world for everyone. It is high time to redefine and materialise a digital world that is closer to our low-tech approach: useful, sober, accessible to all users, open-sourced, respectful of privacy… On our way to digital sobriety, we are led by Gauthier Roussilhe, Sylvain Julé and Pikselkraft.
